Definition of IPC 221:
Intentional omission to apprehend on the part of public servant bound to apprehend.
Classification :
According to Para 1 – This section is Bailable, According as the offence in relation to which such omission has been made in cognizable or non-cognizable and Non-compoundable.
According to Para 2 and 3 – This section is Bailable, Cognizable and Non-compoundable.

According to Para 1 – Imprisonment for 7 years, with or without fine.
According to Para 2 – Imprisonment for 3 years, with or without fine.
According to Para 3 – Imprisonment for 2 years, with or without fine.
